Manitoulin & Traction Host Another Banner Year in Charity Golf Classic
Gore Bay, Ontario – On June 17th and 18th, the transportation industry gathered at the Rocky Crest Golf Resort and Lake Joseph Golf Club in Muskoka for the 16th annual Manitoulin & Traction Charity Golf Classic.
This tournament has achieved remarkable fundraising results over the past 16 years, raising over $2,000,000 through entry fees, sponsorships, and live and silent auctions. This charitable golf classic is a testament to the dedication and generosity of sponsors and donors whose support ensures its ongoing success.
This two-day event united participants in support of the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity and the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) Education Foundation. The Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity improves the lives of seriously ill children and their families by funding necessary expenses that hospitals, OHIP, or private insurance do not cover. The OTA Education Foundation supports higher education for students in Ontario by offering financial aid to those connected to the trucking industry.
“Having Manitoulin and UAP Traction run the charity golf tournament represents a significant commitment to supporting our community and helping important causes that truly make a difference,” says Stan Dunford, the original founder of the charity golf classic tournament. “It’s great to be back and to see the industry still coming together.”
Hockey Hall of Fame 2024 Inductee Jeremy Roenick and NHL Great Brad May, carriers, allied trades, suppliers, insurance companies, and banks across North America joined forces to raise funds. The event reaches capacity annually, highlighting the industry’s solidarity and philanthropic spirit.
