15th Annual Manitoulin & Traction Charity Golf Classic
Gore Bay, Ontario – The transportation industry came together again this year to compete in the 15th annual Manitoulin & Traction Charity Golf Classic that was held at the prestigious Rocky Crest Golf Resort and Lake Joseph Golf Club in Muskoka. This two-day event held on June 19th and 20th supported the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity and the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) Education Foundation.
The Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity is focused on improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. The charity works closely with children’s hospitals across Ontario to cover costs that are not covered by hospital funds, OHIP, or private insurance. The OTA Education Foundation is a charitable institution devoted to the furtherance of education for Ontario post-secondary students with the goal of providing financial assistance to Ontario university and college students who have family connections within the trucking industry.
Carriers, allied trades, and suppliers from the transportation industry across North America along with insurance companies, and banks came together to raise money for this great cause. Every year the event sells out with more than 20 sponsors and 110 golfers.
The tournament raised $185,000 through entry fees, sponsorships, and a live and silent auction. This charity golf tournament exemplifies the generosity and commitment of all of its sponsors and donors who supported the event and ensure its ongoing success.
